Gender Perspectives on Sustainability and Climate Change
Gender Perspectives on Sustainability and Climate Change
Over the past decades, there has been increasing sensibility around the disproportionate effects of the
climate crisis on members of already disadvantaged and marginalized groups. An important factor to
consider here is gender: existing gender roles and inequalities dictate how people experience and are
affected by climate change in almost all areas of life. In turn, the effects of climate change and natural
disasters can exacerbate already existing problems and inequalities. Exploring and addressing the
interaction between climate change and gender is therefore crucial for addressing the climate crisis and
protecting vulnerable groups from its consequences. Our talk will focus on this issue, featuring the
perspectives of multiple experts, followed by an open Q&A session and a free apéro.
